Fans are horrified by shocking realization about Despicable Me 4 as first trailer drops

And no, it's not that fans are just horrified because they've realized how much they've aged since the first movie came out in 2010

Despicable Me 4's first trailer has dropped and fans are all saying the same thing.

And no, it's not that viewers are just horrified because they've realized how much they've aged since the first movie came out in 2010 - yes, you heard that right, the original Despicable Me came out almost 14 years ago.

Try to contain your excitement over even more minion-filled fun:

Directed by Chris Renaud with the help of co-director Patrick Delage, the fourth instalment of the minion-brimmed movie is set to be a scorcher.

Starring Steve Carell once more as Gru, alongside Kristen Wiig as Lucy, Miranda Cosgrove as Margo, Dana Gaier as Edith, the cast is also joined by Barbie's Will Ferrell and Griselda's Sofia Vergara.

The official synopsis by Universal Pictures reads: "Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run."

Not only are Gru's adopted kids Margo, Edith, and Agnes back, alongside Kevin, Stuart and Bob and the hundreds of other minions who rally by his side, but there's another small-sized character who's been added to the mix.

Your face as you try and figure out what the fuss is all about.

The trailer has revealed Gru and Lucy have welcomed a baby.

And we all know how babies are made - yes, even animated characters have sex guys.

While thankfully we don't have to literally see how the birds and the bees takes place literally on screen, that hasn't stopped fans of the movie flocking to social media in shock.

And I think it's fair to say the revelation Gru has sex has hit fans of the movies pretty hard.

One X - formerly known as Twitter - user wrote: "Don’t think of Gru having sex. Don’t think of Gru having sex. Don’t think of Gru having sex. Don’t think of Gru having sex. Don’t think of Gru having sex."

"Gru from minions has canonically had sex idk how to feel abt that," another added.

A third chimed: "GRU DOES THE SEX?!?!"

A fourth wrote: "Never thought I'd live long enough to see Gru have sex."

Although, a final resolved: "GRU HAS SEX HELL YEAH!!!!"

Despicable Me 4 is in US cinemas on July 3 and in the UK and Ireland on 12 July.
