Angus Cloud spoke about his hopes for Euphoria season 3 before his tragic passing

He had high hopes for the future of the hit HBO series, having also previously teased a number of other projects

Euphoria star Angus Cloud had high hopes for a third season of the drama, having spoken about his excitement to get back on set with co-stars.

Cloud’s family confirmed yesterday that he had tragically died at the age of 25, saying in a statement that he would be reunited with his late father, who passed away recently.

They said: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today.

“As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

The family - who did not share details on the cause of Cloud’s death - added: "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.

"The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

The actor was best known for his turn on hit HBO series Euphoria, where he played local drug dealer Fezco.

His character was last seen being taken away by police after his adoptive brother Ashtray (Javon Walton) was fatally shot.

Speaking about the future of the show back in October last year, Cloud sounded excited to get back into filming a third season - which was confirmed in February 2022.

"I can't wait to get back to work with everyone," Cloud told E! News.

"I feel like it's been way too long. I just can't wait to see everyone and working on set again."

He said he was ‘definitely not sure what to expect’ for his character’s storyline after the cliffhanger ending, he said that ‘knowing [creator] Sam Levinson, it will be good’.

Cloud also said he had a ‘couple of projects’ in the works outside of the show that he couldn’t wait for ‘everyone to see’.

He added: "They're a little different than what I usually do, so it will be cool."

In the wake of the actor’s death, 17-year-old Walton - who had played his adoptive brother in the show - paid tribute to his former co-star, posting an Instagram Story photo of the pair and saying: “Forever Family.”

Walton also shared a photo on his grid, adding the caption: “Rest easy brother.”

Storm Reid, who plays Zendaya’s on-screen little sister, Gia Bennett, posted a scene from Euphoria and said 'the tears just won’t stop'.

The show’s official Twitter account, meanwhile, said in a statement: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
