Euphoria star Angus Cloud has died at the age of 25

The actor's family said he was 'special to all of us in so many ways'.

Euphoria star Angus Cloud has died at the age of 25.

The young actor played Fezco on the hit HBO series and his family has confirmed the tragic news in a heartbreaking statement.

They told TMZ: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.

"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.

"The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

They haven't released details of the cause of Cloud's death.

The family finished their statement with: "We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone.

"We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."

Cloud was one of the main characters on Euphoria and played a local drug dealer who had a close relationship with Rue (played by Zendaya).

Cloud was working at a restaurant near the Barclays Center in New York City when Euphoria casting director Jennifer Venditti approached him for the role of Fezco.

He was close to moving his entire life to Ireland where the majority of his family resides, however Venditti caught him just at the right moment.

The 25-year-old initially thought it was sketchy.

“She asked me if I would be down to do an audition, but she didn’t exactly say what it was for," he explained to the Wall Street Journal.

"I thought it was some type of scam."

However, it was the real deal and he landed the role of Fezco, also known as Fez on the show.

His character was integral to the first two seasons and Fez was involved in the absolute cliffhanger at the end of the second instalment when Ash was gunned down by police.

He told the outlet what he had plans for in the future following the success of the first season: “I’m trying to work on my acting for sure.

“My new dream is to be the voice of a cartoon or something. Some kind of voice-over thing, I’m trying to that.”
