Netflix has listed 132 titles that are leaving the platform in August - and some removals are pretty gutting.

Every few weeks, the platform refreshes its digital catalogue, removing dozens of movies and TV shows in the process.

This is usually down to the expiration of licensing deals - but it still hurts all the same.

Fan favourites, cult classics, and even some hidden gems are often caught in the crossfire.

For many subscribers, it means rushing to finish a binge-watch before their favourite series or film vanishes overnight. And while some titles do make a return eventually, there's never any guarantee they'll be back.

With that in mind, and some help from What's On Netflix, here are the 132 titles leaving Netflix in August...

Dunkirk

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk is leaving Netflix at the start of August. Released in 2017, the WWII drama captures the harrowing evacuation of Allied soldiers from France, told through tense and visually striking perspectives across land, sea, and air.

Though some viewers found its non-linear storytelling challenging, others praised it as a bold, poetic take on war - earning it a 92 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

Featuring a stellar cast including Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Barry Keoghan and Harry Styles, the film has seen renewed appreciation online as it marks its eighth anniversary.

If you haven’t watched it yet (or need a second viewing to fully appreciate it), now’s the time - before Dunkirk disappears from Netflix.

Psycho

Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 thriller is exiting Netflix on August 1.

Centered on a fugitive who makes the fatal mistake of staying at the Bates Motel, the movie is known for its iconic shower scene and groundbreaking psychological horror.

Starring Janet Leigh as Marion Crane and Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, the movie racked up a 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes score as well as Golden Globe award.

The movie is also responsible for changing how we experience movies in theatres today - how's that for a legacy?

Catch Psycho before it leaves Netflix - then spend the following days feeling paranoid in the shower...

Ugly Betty

Netflix is saying goodbye to Ugly Betty, the beloved 2000s comedy-drama that fans dubbed 'ahead of its time.'

Starring America Ferrera as a quirky, kind-hearted young woman navigating the cutthroat world of fashion, the show has earned 60 awards - including three Emmys and two Golden Globes.

Since joining Netflix US in August 2023, it’s been streamed for more than 173 million hours, with many calling it their ultimate comfort show.

But now, subscribers are heartbroken as Ugly Betty is set to leave the platform on August 1.

If you’ve been meaning to rewatch it - or watch it for the first time - now’s the time to dive in.
