
Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the group he co-founded, Turning Point USA, has announced that his wife will be taking on a massive role in the future of the organization.
On September 10, Kirk was shot and killed while he was speaking at Utah Valley University.
Two days after his death, authorities announced they'd apprehended the suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson, who has since been charged with seven counts in connection with the 31-year-old's death.
Erika Kirk, who has been married to the right-wing podcaster since 2021 and has two children with him, issued a statement on Saturday (September 13) from Turning Point USA's headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, where she announced that she would be continuing her husband's legacy.

And in a post on Twitter, the company revealed who would be taking up the mantle of CEO and Chair of the Board.

The letter read: “In Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote that mankind is to be tested by God. Toda,y we are facing such a test, yet we also know that God has prepared us with everything we need to overcome this ordeal.
“It was the honor of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie’s side. Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one.

“He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest test. And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA."
They continued to say that Turning Point USA 'have a special role in carrying Charlie Kirk's mantle' of 'bringing us all closer to our Lord and fostering a prosperous country for generations to come'.
“As Charlie always said, ‘we have a country to save’." the letter said. “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.
Following Kirk's death, the businesswoman shared a few videos of her husband, including one of Kirk telling their daughter the story of how they first met.

Turning Point USA also released new merchandise on its website before Kirk's memorial service on Sunday (September 20).
Some of their designs included hand-drawn images of Kirk, as well as Erika and their two children.
They wrote on their Facebook page: "We are deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support for the Kirk family and for our organization during this incredibly difficult time.
"We are especially grateful to those who have reached out asking how they can help."

Meanwhile, a fundraiser set up by a nicotine pouch company to raise money for Erika and her children has also reached an eye-watering amount.
