A crowdfunding page set up in support of Charlie Kirk's family has raised millions of dollars in less than two days.

On Wednesday (September 10), the right-wing political activist was fatally shot while attending a college debate at Utah Valley University (UVU), which over 3,000 people attended.

In videos of the horrific incident, the father-of-two was struck in the neck by a bullet, and was rushed to hospital by his security team, where he was pronounced dead.

After a two-day manhunt, authorities say they have the suspect in police custody, who they identified as Tyler Robinson, 22.

Tributes to Kirk have been made by numerous huge figures, including President Donald Trump, who has issued several messages about him, calling him a 'patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate and the country he loved so much, the United States of America'.

Meanwhile, Kirk's widow, Erika, has also spoken out following the passing of her husband, where she described how she explained his death to their three-year-old daughter.

Now, a nicotine pouch company - ALP Pouches - has created a page for Kirk's family on the Christian crowdfunding platform 'GiveSendGo', in the hope of raising $5 million.

In less than 48 hours, the total amount raised has surpassed $4 million of its goal, with $1 million pledged from ALP Pouches itself.

"Our team at ALP is heartbroken by the death of Charlie Kirk - a devoted husband, father, and friend. Love for God, family, and country defined his life," the description read.

"Charlie leaves behind his wife, Erika, and their two young children. As they navigate this unimaginable loss, we want to rally together to provide security and stability for Charlie’s loved ones.

"Our goal is to raise as much as possible to support the Kirk family. ALP has contributed $1 million to this effort, and we invite you to join us in honoring Charlie’s legacy by giving whatever you are able. We hope you’ll join us."

In her statement, the 36-year-old said that her husband was killed because he 'preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love', and said she'd continue his work, including his tours, radio shows, and podcast.

She continued to say that she wouldn't let the movement Kirk had built 'die', adding: "I refuse to let that happen ... All of us will refuse to let that happen.

"No one will ever forget my husband's name, and I will make sure of it."

Kirk leaves behind Erika and their two children, a three-year-old and a one-year-old son.

UNILAD has contacted Turning Point USA to ask for comment on the fundraiser.
