Joe Rogan was left in a state of utter shock while filming his podcast with guest Charlie Sheen, after discovering Charlie Kirk had been assassinated.
The actor joined the podcaster in the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, and towards the end of the discussion, news broke that political commentator Kirk had been shot.
The news sent shockwaves around the studio, as a visibly upset Rogan attempted to power on with the show.
"So this just happened, we just found out that Charlie Kirk got shot," Rogan told the camera in a state of utter disbelief.

"It’s a f***ed up time. People are so divided in this country," Rogan added.
Sheen, who was equally shocked at the news, expressed his disbelief that someone could be 'murdered for having a different opinion from somebody else, different ideology from somebody'.

While Rogan never interviewed Kirk on his podcast, he did recall meeting him at a gun range, and Kirk certainly left a good impression.

"He’s not a violent guy, he’s talking to people on college campuses," Rogan added.
"He wasn’t even particularly rude, [he] tried to be pretty reasonable with people. He’s a very intelligent guy, whether you agree with him or don’t, and there’s a lot of stuff that I didn’t agree with him on."
Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University on Wednesday (September 10), and the shooter is still at large.
Two people had been taken in for questioning, but have since been released as police confirmed they have 'no current ties' to the shooting.

The FBI released an image of a person of interest on Thursday (September 11) and called on the public to notify the agency if they have seen this person or know their identity.

Shortly after, the FBI released more details about the shooter and their actions after Kirk was assassinated.
The post read: “The FBI is releasing video of the shooter who murdered Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Following the shooting, the individual jumps from a rooftop and runs away from the location.

“Trace evidence collected from the rooftop includes shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print. The shooter's weapon and ammunition were recovered from a wooded area near the university.”
The video saw the alleged shooter jumping off a university building and fleeing the scene.
The FBI is offering a reward of $100,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the assassin.
