Law enforcement sources have confirmed the name of the individual they believe is the suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10.
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while he was speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University.
The FBI has been investigating the shooting and drip-feeding information to the public as they attempt to apprehend the shooter.
Earlier this week they released images of a ‘person of interest’ in connection to the assassination of Kirk and called on the public to send in any footage from the shooting as well as the local area that could be useful.

Following up on this, they also shared CCTV footage appearing to show the shooter climb off a university building roof and fleeing into the community after the shooting happened.

A law enforcement official has spoken to the Associated Press ahead of a live press conference from the FBI and given new details.
The official confirmed the identity of the shooter as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah.

This announcement comes after US president Donald Trump appeared in person on Fox News to offer an update.
He did not name the shooter, but did say that there is a ‘suspect’ in custody.
Speaking on Fox News' FOX and Friends, the president said when asked for an update on the case: "I think with a high degree of certainty we have [the suspect] in custody."
According to Trump, somebody close to the suspect turned him in.

Trump when on to praise the local authorities and the collective effort in capturing the suspect.
He added that they ‘did a great job’ and noted that ‘everybody [was] working together'.
Trump also attempted to address the calls for retaliation following Kirk’s death, explaining how he wants to the public to respond to Kirk’s death.
He said: “He was an advocate of non-violence that’s the way I’d like to see people respond."
