People are pointing out a major design flaw with Cybertruck that has been largely overlooked

They took to X to air their frustrations

Cybertruck drivers are growing frustrated with an apparent design flaw on the new vehicle.

Tesla’s Cybertrucks were hotly anticipated by many motorists, car and truck enthusiasts alike ahead of their release in November of last year. But it appears they might not be all they were cracked up to be.

That is according to some owners who have taken to social media to complain about what they are considering a misstep at best and utter failure at worst.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously praised the Cybertruck vehicle and said it is ‘a better truck than a truck while also being a better sports car than a sports car’.

Well, at least a few X user might have words for Musk about his claim as they have complained of the poor trunk space, compared to its competitors, and the lack of a spare tire.

“This is a big fail IMO on the Cybertruck and one I’m really disappointed in. The under bed storage is pathetic or poorly sized given how large the vehicles is and that @tesla had a blank sheet for design,” one user wrote on X.

“Every truck has storage for a spare tire which does not compromise the bed space. Rivian can fit a full sized spare + changing tools + gear tunnel + retracting tonneau cover in a 4”5’ bed while Cybertruck has 6” feet.”

The user added that this limited space would have real-life consequences for them if they wanted to take their Cybertruck for camping or off road trips.

“I want the entire space of the bed to be usable for a tent, sleeping, camping supplies, cargo, dirt bike, etc. every other truck can do this,” they continued.

“Furthermore it’s nice always having a spare tire on a vehicle just in case and not having to lug it in/out. That 35” prob weighs 75-85 lbs. and is not easy to get out.”

While some users insisted this hadn’t been a concern for them and others joked that the user was simply complaining about a non issue, a few did stand behind the complaints.

“I don't know if it's a 'big' fail but it is certainly a failure. If Cyber Truck really becomes a serious 'work' truck then I'm sure several things will have to change,” one user remarked.

“It was definitely a miss during the design. The easiest way to fix this would be to attach it like a spare in a jeep, maybe?” a second commented.

“Yeah one of there big mistakes on the design,” another simply put.
