All of this, while grappling with a strange and unexpected development: he's starting to like humans.

As Harry struggles to blend in, only one person can see through his disguise: a sharp and fearless 10-year-old boy called Max (Judah Prehn).

With government agents on his trail, Harry faces a choice that could change the fate of Earth forever.

The series, called Resident Alien, has racked up a 97 percent score from critics over on Rotten Tomatoes - which is a major achievement, particularly for a comedy.

You can watch the trailer here:

Its season one's critics consensus reads: "Resident Alien takes a minute to settle into its skin, but once it does it finds fresh humor in a familiar framework and proves a perfect showcase for Alan Tudyk's singular comedic skills."

Fans shared their own thoughts, with many in agreement, as one said: "One of the smartest comedies I seen in sometime. Great cast and performances."

A second wrote: "Brilliant writing and clever message. A must see! It keeps surprising me in each episode!"

The praise continued on the Netflix Bangers Facebook Group, where one fan said the show is so great, they wish they could 'watch it for the first time, again.'

A second admitted: "Resident Alien is actually hilarious. Not into aliens and never thought I would be interested, now hooked."

A third wrote: "We just finished watching it for the second time. Awesome show!"

Resident Alien was renewed for season four in June 2024, with the show set to moving from Syfy to NBCUniversal's USA Network.

The new season drops on Friday (June 6).

The first three seasons are available to stream now on Netflix in the US, while the first two are streaming on Netflix in the UK.
