Baba Vanga has done it again.

While the late Bulgarian mystic died in 1996, the predictions she'd made before her passing have long been accurate.

For example, she said that in 2023 we'd experience and a solar storm - and we did.

The storm hit on December 1, with scientists issuing warnings of potential blackouts at the time.

In regards to this year, Vanga gave another rather bleak forecast.

She said that they will be increased terrorist attacks and that Vladimir Putin would be the victim of an assassination attempt. She didn't share whether said attempt would be successful or not, however.

The late 84-year-old also predicted that the world would face an economic crisis, there would be more terrifying weather events and that hackers would increase their cyberattacks.

The only optimistic prophecy she gave for 2024 was that new treatments would be developed for some illnesses that are currently seen as terminal.

Now, as we enter the fourth month of the year, we look at which predictions have come true so far.

    Economic crisis

Both the UK and Japan are facing financial hardships. It was confirmed in February, according to data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), that gross domestic product (GDP) fell by a larger than expected 0.3 percent in the three months to December in the UK.

This was a result of a decline in all main sectors of the economy and collapse in retail sales in the run-up to Christmas, The Guardian reports.

Meanwhile, Japan has moved down to fourth position in global standings underscores the severity of its economic challenges.

It had previously been in third, but Germany has since taken its spot.

    New treatments

In recent weeks, it's been confirmed that a lung cancer vaccine is in the works.

'LungVax' is being created by scientists from the University of Oxford, the Francis Crick Institute and University College London (UCL). They have now received a £1.7 million ($2,139,225) by charities Cancer Research UK and the CRIS Cancer Foundation to fund 3,000 vaccines.

Elsewhere, Russia has said that it is also creating a cancer vaccine.

"We have come very close to the creation of so-called cancer vaccines and immunomodulatory drugs of a new generation... I hope that soon they will be effectively used as methods of individual therapy," said Vladimir Putin at a Moscow forum on future technologies, according to Reuters.

He didn't specify which types of cancers the vaccines will treat, however.
