Mystic Baba Vanga shared a number of horrifying predictions for 2026 prior to her death 30 years ago - and two have already come true.

It's safe to say the year so far has been eventful, with devastating earthquakes, deadly floods, political tensions, the World Cup drama, and record-breaking heatwaves - the human race has had a lot to contend with.

But one person claimed to have seen it coming, after previously predicting tragic events such as 9/11, the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2004 tsunami, and more.

Before passing away aged 84 in 1996, Bulgarian clairvoyant Baba Vanga allegedly foresaw that 2026 would be plagued with environmental disasters and an artificial intelligence takeover - both of which we have already seen on more than one occasion.

Baba Vanga reportedly warned of severe natural disasters in 2026.

In June, two devastating magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes hit Venezuela, killing thousands and causing widespread destruction.

Europe has also battled an intense summer of extreme heat, with countries including Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy experiencing record-breaking temperatures that fuelled destructive wildfires.

Torrential rainfall triggered catastrophic flash floods across parts of Asia this year, and the US has continued to grapple with severe storms.

Believers also claim Baba Vanga predicted that 2026 could be the year we see artificial intelligence begin to dominate key sectors, bringing on job disruption and ethical issues.

Indeed, the rapid rise of AI has fuelled growing concerns about the future of the workforce.

In recent months, a number of major companies have announced job cuts while citing AI as a key factor, noting that technology is developing in ways that allow them to automate tasks that were previously carried out by human employees, as per Business Insider.

However, these are just two of the predictions Baba Vanga is said to have made for 2026, with several more yet to unfold...

Extraterrestrial contact

Fortune tellers have long predicted that humans are set to make contact with alien life, but Baba Vanga suggested 2026 could be the breakthrough year - specifically in November.

She allegedly pictured a massive spaceship penetrating Earth's atmosphere - so keep your eyes on the skies when winter rolls around.

International warfare

Her most chilling forecast yet involves the beginning of a third world war.

According to interpretations, Baba Vanga foresaw China's seizure of Taiwan and a head-to-head clash between Russia and the US.

Putin's demise

Russia may also see the emergence of a new leader in 2026, according to the mystic.

And with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, it sparks questions about the future of the country if Vladimir Putin's long-standing regime crumbles.

Putin has served as president for a total of more than 18 years across two separate blocks, between 2000-2008 and 2012-present.
