All the chilling 2025 predictions Nostradamus and Baba Vanga have actually got right so far

The so-called seers made some pretty eerie predictions

There have been some pretty harrowing things that famous seers accurately predicted would come true this year.

With Christmas just around the corner and the end of 2025 now inching closer, it's fair to say that it has been a crazy year.

Wars have waged on around the world, Mother Nature has wiped out entire neighborhoods from wildfires to floods, the Head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, died, and artificial intelligence snowballed to near sentience.

Meanwhile, closer to home, the White House welcomed Donald Trump back as president of the United States for the second time.

But how many of these worldly events were predicted by so-called fortune tellers that claim to see the future?

French astrologer Nostradamus, real name Michel de Nostredame, is believed to have predicted things like Great Fire of London, the rise of Hitler, the Hiroshima atomic bomb and the 9/11 terrorist attacks in his 1555 book, Les Prophéties.

Meanwhile, blind Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga is said to have made her own freaky predictions before her death in 1996 at the age of 84, including the Chernobyl disaster, Princess Diana's death, the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and the election of Barack Obama as the first African-American US president.

Now, people are scanning through the prophecies to see what freaky forecasts they had for 2025 that came true this year.

Conflicts overseas

Nostradamus reportedly predicted 'great powers will clash' in 2025, adding there would be a 'decrease in the influence of established Western countries and the emergence of new world powers'.

There certainly has been clashes between world leaders and countries this year - from Trump's heated meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Russian President Vladimir Putin indicating he wouldn't hesitate to go toe-to-toe with Europe.

Earthquakes

Baba Vanga is said to have predicted scores of earthquakes affecting our home planet this year.

Well, she wasn't wrong, as there have been several deadly earthquakes across the world, including Myanmar, Japan, the Philippines and Afghanistan.

Medical treatments

Although Nostradamus didn't outright say 2025 would be the year the world figured a way to tackle the obesity crisis with the development of weight loss drugs like Mounjaro, he did see there would be 'significant improvements in illness prevention and treatment'.

Scientists are also currently in the midst of creating a tuberculosis vaccine, while AI advancements could work to track if patients are likely to develop cancer in 20 years.

Europe at war

It's alleged that Baba Vanga also predicted a devastating war would grip Europe and wipe out scores of the continent's population.

Although Russia's assault on Ukraine took place in 2022, it currently stands as the largest and deadliest war in Europe since World War Two, not forgetting Putin's harrowing warning that Russia will 'defeat' the continent in any further hit-back.

Predictions that didn't come true

Some have said the predictions of the famous seers are pretty ambiguous, meaning they're quite open to interpretation which we could apply to many things in the modern era.

For example, Nostradamus said England 'will be marked by wars so cruel, foes from within and without will arise'. Although the UK isn't directly involved in war, it's not exactly foe-free.

In addition, his theory of a 'great pestilence from the past' making a comeback might make you think of Covid, which could be true if you consider the 'superflu' outbreak.

England aside, Nostradamus also penned: "Through long war all the army exhausted, so that they do not find money for the soldiers; instead of gold or silver, they will come to coin leather, Gallic brass, and the crescent sign of the Moon."

This could possibly refer to the war between Ukraine and Russia coming to an end this year, which it hasn't, resources from both sides have been exhausted with casualties aplenty.

Though some interpret the references to 'Gallic brass' and the crescent moon to refer to France and Turkey - so maybe watch this space if they get involved in some way.

It's said that Baba Vanga also had a vision aliens would finally make contact with us Earthlings during a major sporting event, which hasn't happened.

Finally, Nostradamus also predicted a 'fireball' rising and presenting 'science and fate in a cosmic dance', AKA the end of the world in an apocalypse which, thankfully hasn't come true, though there is still a few weeks until the end of 2025 yet...
