Astronomer's new interim CEO, Pete Dejoy has issued a new statement on how the 'Coldplay kiss-cam' incident has impacted the company over the last few days.
In case you had somehow not gone on the internet the last week or so, a lot has been happening for New York tech company, Astronomer.
Last week, two concertgoers, who have since been identified as CEO Andy Bryon and Chief of People Kristin Cabot, were spotted seemingly getting cozy while watching Coldplay perform in Boston.
This wouldn’t normally be anything worth talking about, but the pair's reaction to being shown on the big screen sent the video into the stratosphere of the social media world.

Following the video's viral moment, Astronomer has spoken out on the matter, revealing that a formal investigation had been initiated before announcing Bryon's resignation as CEO.

In their statement, they said their standard in 'both conduct and accountability' was not met, adding that the Board of Directors had accepted Bryon's resignation.
It continued: "The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO."

And on Monday (21 July), DeJoy, who is also a co-founder of Astronomer, took to LinkedIn to address how the scandal had impacted the company as a whole.
Over on LinkedIn, he wrote that the events from the past few days had resulted in the company receiving a ton of media attention, which he said had been 'unusual and surreal for our team'.
"While I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name." he added.
He then continued to praise the company for its growth over the years and how he is dedicated to ensuring it continues to thrive.

He said that their story is 'very much still being written' and thanked his team for their 'resilience & commitment to building something great'.
