Joe Rogan has criticised President Donald Trump for his comments about Rob Reiner, following his death.

Reiner, 78 and his wife, Michele, 70, were found deceased in their home in Los Angeles on December 14.

The couple's son, Nick Reiner has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Following the couple's tragic deaths, Trump took to Truth Social where he shared a post that has since been met with widespread criticism.

In a post on social media, Trump wrote that Reiner had been suffering from an 'incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS'.

Trump initially said on Truth Social: “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood.

"Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.

“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"

When quizzed about his comments by reporters during a press conference, Trump said: “Well I wasn’t a fan of his at all.

“He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned, he knew it was false, in fact it is the exact opposite – that I was a friend of Russia, that I was controlled by Russia.

“You know it was the Russia hoax, he was one of the people behind it.

“I think he hurt himself career-wise, so he became like a deranged person, Trump derangement syndrome.

“So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way shape or form, I thought he was very bad for our country.”

Rogan has since spoken about Trump's comments while chatting with comedian Shane Gillis on an episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

"There's no justification for what he did that makes any sense in a compassionate society," he said.

"It's no different than people celebrating when Charlie Kirk got shot."

Rogan then likened the situation to former President Barack Obama, adding: "Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after they died, in this way, that this person was a deranged person who hated Obama.

"... It just shows you how crazy it is, the way Trump thinks and talks."

A number of other celebrities have also spoken out about Trump's comments, with many outraged.

UNILAD has reached out to The White House for comment.
