Jimmy Kimmel hasn't wasted any time in mocking President Donald Trump since returning to his post, as he's now ridiculed the Republican's Nobel Peace Prize efforts just hours before missing out on it.
Last month, ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the talk show host's comments about the 79-year-old grieving conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death.
Trump took to Truth Social at the time to commend the broadcaster for cutting the 57-year-old from its roll, but just days later, following public scrutiny, ABC made a surprise U-turn, and Kimmel's show was reinstated.
Since then, the comedian has continued to throw jibes at the president, even calling Trump a ‘bully’ after he seemingly hinted at suing ABC again in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

And on his show last night (October 9), Kimmel joked about Trump's continuous campaign to become a Nobel Peace Prize holder.

"I’ve seen a lot of Oscar and Emmy campaigns but no one has ever vied for an award more vigorously," he said, as a montage of Trump talking about wanting the illustrious award ran across the screen.
While just days before the winner was announced, the White House posted a picture of him on X (formerly Twitter), calling him 'The Peace President'.
Referencing this, Kimmel went on to tease Trump, saying the 'peace president' was sending a platoon to 'invade a yoga studio in Portland right now' - an apparent dig at the Trump administration wanting to deploy the National Guard following protests in Oregon, a move which has been repeatedly stopped by the federal court (via the BBC).

It came ahead of today's announcement that the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Venezuelan politician María Corina Machado.

The Nobel Prize said on X (formerly Twitter): "The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2025 #NobelPeacePrize to Maria Corina Machado for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy."
Machado is a Venezuelan politician and industrial engineer who is currently the opposition leader in her country, having served as an elected member of the National Assembly of Venezuela from 2011 to 2014.

She will be awarded her prize at a ceremony on December 10 2025, in Oslo, Norway.
In the wake of the decision, the White House accused the Nobel Committee of placing 'politics over peace'. However, Trump claimed that he knew he would be passed over, but that he 'deserves' the award.
During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House in February, the Republican president said: "They will never give me a Nobel Peace Prize. I deserve it, but they will never give it to me."

Trump has claimed on several occasions that his influence has been key in stopping multiple wars across the world.
"I've done six wars, I've ended six wars," the 79-year-old said in August during a summit with Ukrainian and European leaders.
"If you look at the six deals I settled this year, they were all at war. I didn't do any ceasefires."
