Experts are raising the alarm about the sex positions that could injure you.
From reports of unlucky individuals with objects stuck in awkward places to diagrams of stick figures contorting into improbable positions, you might expect the riskiest scenarios to be the most extreme. Yet research suggests it’s one of the more 'vanilla' choices that accounts for a surprising share of injuries.
More than six in 10 people have sustained an injury during, according to a study published by Superdrug online doctor which used data from more than 1,000 people across the US and Europe.

For women, doggy style ranked alongside having no particular favorite position as the most common source of injuries, while missionary contributed to 16 percent of cases. Meanwhile, cowgirl was linked to problems for both men and women, accounting for 8 percent of male injuries and 6 percent of those reported by women.
When it comes to injuries during sex, the areas most at risk tend to be the most intimate. For men, 38 percent of reported issues involved the penis. Women faced an even greater likelihood of genital injury, with over half of their cases affecting the vaginal area.
Speaking to The Sun, sex expert and educator Scotty Unfamous explained: “although it’s one of the most popular positions for sex, this fan favourite is the most common way that intimate injuries occur, as it can cause some wear and tear to your joints.
“If you experience discomfort from how you are positioned during missionary sex, try incorporating cushions or a rolled-up towel/blanket to provide some support where you need it most, like under your hips, knees, back or shoulders.”

However, escort Lilith Lodge says missionary is the most requested position from her clients. “Most clients are very basic and standard in what they want,” she told Metro. “It's not super common, definitely not a weekly event, to have clients ask for something outside of what I feel is 'normal'. It's pretty much just missionary.”
Lodge has also discussed the issue she says she often sees in the bedroom.
The Brisbane-based escort recently uploaded a YouTube video discussing her experiences and insisted that while many men can experience some issues in the bedroom at some point in their life, if it is a repeated issue, it should be something you get help for.
Lodge was speaking about none other than erectile dysfunction, a topic which impacts millions of men however still carries with it an embarrassing stigma.
Lodge noted that this issue is something that she frequently encounters with clients and is something she encourages them to get medical advice on rather than ignore or avoid the issue.
