US government reveals the worst things people got stuck up their butts last year in shocking list

Not quite the 'year in review' you were expecting...

Have you wondered what people have gotten stuck up their bums this year? Me neither, but someone still curated a list for us all to read.

Evidently, people can get themselves in some rather uncompromising positions in life and find themselves in the emergency room afterwards.

And getting things stuck up your butt is seemingly happening more than you think as there were reportedly nearly 40,000 cases of emergency department visits by people with foreign objects in the rectums between 2012 to 2021 in the US, according to the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.

The average age of the patients were 43 years old and 77.8 percent were male.

Now, as the festive season is in full swing, anal surgeon Dr Evan Goldstein, from Bespoke Surgical, warned about the dangers of Christmas ornaments in particular.

He said: "Most ornaments and decorations are flimsy, uneven, and built with seams, caps, hooks, or jagged edges. Many can easily crack or shatter under the pressure of the sphincter muscles.

"The rectum can pull objects upward, and without a flared base, you run a real risk of it getting sucked up into your rectum, which can sometimes require surgical removal. Christmas ornaments are uniquely risky because they combine multiple bad features at once: thin glass and brittle plastics, hooks, caps, wires, seams, and no flared base."

But Christmas ornaments didn't make it on the list of things found to have been stuck up people's butts in America this past year, according to data from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

In a list (via Defector), some of the items listed as having been found in people's rectums included:


  • Uncooked pasta
  • Egg
  • Dog chew toy
  • Dryer sheet
  • Sandal
  • Door knob
  • Marbles
  • Screws and nails
  • Eyeglasses
  • Light bulb
  • Vape pen
  • Highlighter

While these particular instances didn't come with a reason, others did.

For example, one person ended up with a shampoo bottle up their butt simply because they were 'bored'.

Another patient put a baseball where they shouldn't of to 'see what it felt like', and another ended up getting pliers stuck up their behind while trying to remove a seven-inch dildo that had accidentally gone too far.

Ouch.

Data also showed what people got stuck in their penises, and some of these objects will raise your eyebrows as well.

  • A chess piece
  • A battery
  • Magnets
  • Staples
  • A thermometer
  • An Allen wrench

Long story short, folks, don't put things up where they don't belong...
