The trailer for Crime Boss: Rockay City has been released, and aside from looking like it has the potential to be one of the best games of the year, it appears to be an homage to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

From all guns blazing nods to 90s action films to robberies, car chases and machine guns a’plenty, Crime Boss and GTA could certainly be related.

Apart from some exciting GTA similarities, Crime Boss: Rockay City features cameos from a stack of famous faces, including Danny Glover and Michael Madsen. Excited much?

Check out the trailer below:

A joint project by 505 Games and Epic Games, Crime Boss: Rockay City drops on 28 March 2023 and is billed as a ‘first person shooter heist game, playable solo or with friends’.

The game will be an Epic Games store exclusive but console versions will be released later next year.

Now, back to that A-list cast, alongside Glover and Madsen, the likes of Kim Basinger, Damien Poitier, Danny Trejo, Michael Rooker and Vanilla Ice also play characters within the world of Rockay City.

Neil Ralley, President of 505 Games, said of Rockay City: “The sheer volume of talent involved both in front of the camera and behind the development of Crime Boss is hugely exciting for 505 to be part of.

“We’re thrilled to bring this truly exceptional organised crime game to gamers globally.”

Needless to say, the game’s trailer release has got people talking, with one person writing on Twitter: “Crime Boss: Rockay City is going to be so nice nice baby!”

Another added: “Crime Boss Rockay City looks fire,” while a third said: “Crime Boss Rockay City is basically every 90's crime movie the game... My god what a cast.”

Other excited comments included: “Yo!! Crime Boss Rockay City!! 90s Miami & THAT CAST!!! OH GOD I’m really interested in this Game!”, “CRIME BOSS: ROCKAY CITY looks awesome. Can't wait to check this out” and “Besides Jedi Survivor and Death Stranding 2, one of the games I’m really interested in from this year’s Game Awards is Crime Boss Rockay City. So many big names in it!”

The game’s full description reads: “Introducing Crime Boss: Rockay City, an organised crime game combining FPS action and turf wars from INGAME STUDIOS. You will take on the role of Travis Baker – a man with his sights set on becoming the new King of Rockay City… one crime at a time.”
