Singer Taylor Swift is raking it in from her latest tour, with the Shake It Out star on track to earn more than $1 billion from her sell out Eras tour.

The Eras Tour marks the sixth headlining concert tour by the 'Bad Blood' star, after having not toured for her studio albums Lover, Folklore and Evermore due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tour, which hits the UK next year, has undoubtedly been a global success and sold out many of its dates in minutes after tickets went on sale last month.

So, it's no surprise that fans have flocked and paid a lot of money to get a chance to see Swift sing along to all ten of her albums, including her latest, Midnights.

And as the singer wraps up the first leg of the US side of the incredibly successful Eras tour, it has become the first of its kind to reach the record breaking figure of grossing $1 billion in ticket sales, the Economic Times reports.

Some believe that the tour will actually hit an impressive $1.5 billion.

Keen fans of the star are paying an average of $245 per night to attend and see the star perform some of her classic hits as well as new material, which adds up to a whopping $13 million for Swift per night.

The success of the tour has been so great that a report from the Wall Street Journal is predicting that Swift's tour will eclipse Elton John’s farewell tour in terms of gross revenue for tickets, merchandise and sponsorships.

Billboard also estimated that Swift’s tour would gross $590 million based on the original 52 tour dates across the US.

However, now the tour has expanded and added further dates in Latin America, Asia, Australia and Europe through 2024, the tour has a total of at least 106 dates which will see the star gross even more sales.

Tickets have been so highly sought after that even though initial tickets were being sold for the US tour starting from $50 and rising to $899 for the top tier VIP package, the resale market has seen tickets sell for way more than they were bought for.

One fan even claimed on TikTok that he was able to sell his ticket for $14,000 and pay off his college tuition with the profits.

Isaac Jarman posted a TikTok video thanking the person who bought his ticket, saying they 'literally paid for my college tuition'.

"I hope you enjoy the show so much," he said. "I wish I could be there but also 14k is pretty nice too."

And while Swift's tour has been racking up the profits for the singer, she's made sure to spread the wealth too by giving away $55 million in bonuses in total for her Eras Tour.

According to People, sources confirmed: "The pop superstar recently gave bonuses totaling over $55 million to everyone (from her dancers to riggers, sound technicians and catering, among others) working on her massive show."

The news follows Swift giving $100,000 bonuses to around 50 production truck drivers, who have been responsible for hauling all of the equipment across the country.
