Hilary Duff has released a very racy song, along with a music video, amidst the Ashley Tisdale 'toxic mom' drama.
The 38-year-old singer and actress released her new single 'Roommates' from her upcoming album, titled Luck…or Something.
In November, Duff gave fans a sneak peek of what to expect after releasing the single 'Mature', which focused on her meteoric rise to fame as a child star.
In a statement, the Lizzie McGuire star said she hoped her new album, which releases on February 20, will 'answer the question' of how she grew up in the show business industry 'with my head on straight'.

“It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’. Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me,” she said (via Variety).
In her latest song, she focuses on the longing for excitement in a mundane relationship, with the lyrics getting very NSFW in certain places.

The lyrics include: "I only want the beginning, I don't want the end / Want the part where you say, 'Goddamn' / Back of the dive bar, giving you head /Then sneak home late, wake up your roommates."

She then sings: "I'm touching myself looking at porn / 'Cause you don't even look my way no more."
Meanwhile, the music video sees Duff performing the song while her on-screen partner sits by; soon, it begins to rain indoors, a reference to her 2003 song 'Come Clean'.
Explaining the track further, Duff revealed (via PEOPLE): “'Roommates' is a song about when life is life-ing, babe. It’s that ache for a wilder, freer time — before the days were swallowed by carpools, budget talks, grocery runs and letting old or new insecurities slip in.
"It’s the restless hum of wanting to find your way back — to your rhythm, to your person, to yourself.”

The song was released just a couple of weeks after High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale spoke about stepping away from her 'toxic mom group'.
While Tisdale didn't name anyone in her essay for The Cut, it was reported that she had unfollowed Duff and Mandy Moore on social media, sparking much fan speculation.
However, the Disney star's representatives told TMZ that the essay wasn't about Duff or Moore.

Duff's husband, Matthew Koma, who showered his wife in praise for 'Roommates', which he co-created with her, saying she 'crushed so hard', was quick to hit out at Tisdale with an Instagram post.
Singer Meghan Trainor, who was also reported to be part of the group, has weighed in on the situation, claiming she is 'innocent'.
UNILAD has previously contacted the representatives of Duff, Tisdale, and Moore for comment.
