You can now stay in the real-life version of Carl Fredricksen's house in Up.

The opening sequence of the 2009 Disney Pixar release left us all weeping, but now prepare to cry tears of absolute joy as a childhood dream comes true.

In celebration of it being 15 years since the heart-wrenching yet also heart-warming film was released - yes, you're that old - Airbnb 'bought Carl and Ellie's house' to rent out.

The replica Up house is located in Abiquiu, New Mexico and it actually has 8,000 balloons and also floats in the air '50 feet above the ground'. Although, not quite relying on balloon power, but from a crane, sorry to spoil the magic slightly.

However, bar that, 'no detail in this house went unnoticed,' co-founder and CEO of Airbnb Brian Chesky said when revealing the listing at an event in Los Angeles on 1 May, as quoted by TODAY.com.

And just wait until you see the description on the Airbnb listing.

The Airbnb listing states the property is hosted by Carl Fredrisksen himself. *Sobs*.

The post details: "I don’t always like visitors, but I guess it’s pretty nice to have them now that it’s just me and Dug. So, come stay in my cosy home I made with my dear Ellie.

"My greatest adventures happened here, and I learned that the best ones are always with someone you love.

"So, bring your pals to kick-start your very own Adventure Book and watch as my house drifts off before you depart."

For those who manage to get a booking in to visit or stay at the iconic floating house, you'll don the title of 'Junior Wilderness Explorers'.

And if you complete certain chores, you'll be able to earn certain badges just like Russell did in the movie.

The first role incorporates the job of a 'caretaker' collecting the mail and 'minding the house,' second is daydreaming, so doing 'a group activity to create your very own Adventure Book'.

"Hope you like groups as much as I don’t like them," Fredricksen jokes.

Other chores include packing lunches for a picnic on the lawn, heading out for 'wilderness excursions,' stargazing - 'one of Ellie's favorite things to do' - getting some sleep and eating 'bran flakes' too.

Although the stay does come with some rules too.

Mr Fredricksen warns to not 'touch anything' as he's 'just straightened it up'.

The listing continues: "This place used to be a dump but we fixed it up, my wonderful Ellie and me. Decorated it with stuff from all the trips we planned to take.

"I’m a bit old for adventure nowadays, but I know it’s still out there, especially if you stay here – but just for one night, don’t get too comfy. Say, if you are lucky enough to stay here, you could start your own collection of badges, travel mementos, trinkets … you know, stuff to remind you of your own adventures. I suppose I could help you with that.

"Ellie was the best adventurer, so you’ve got big shoes to fill."

The Up house is part of Airbnb's recently launched Icons series.

Chesky said, as per CNN: "Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination – until now. As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth."

If you do want to be in with a chance of staying at Fredrickson's house, you better move quick, as requests to book close at 11:59pm PT on 13 May, 2024.

Around 4,000 tickets are available and guests are reportedly required to submit a written entry as to why they want to stay.
