People have been left in shock after learning how many rules the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders reportedly have to follow.

Often referred to as the DDC, the team of cheerleaders represent NFL team the Dallas Cowboys. Many football teams have their own cheerleading squad in a tradition that dates back to the 1950s.

It's believed that Baltimore Colts were the first NFL team to create a cheer squad. The only team in all of NFL history to not have one is the New York Giants.

Meanwhile, The Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers also have no cheerleaders as of this year, says Diario AS.

But it's unlikely the the Dallas Cowboys will disband their squad anytime soon. The team is so well-known that it got it's own docu-series — the second season of which landed on Netflix on June 18.

Titled America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, the first season followed the team across 2023-2024. The show documented squad through their auditions, training camp, and the NFL season.

Season one landed on Netflix last year, and it quickly caused a stir as viewers said it was 'so upsetting' and urged the streamer to put a trigger warning on it.

While it can be a hard watch at times, people were (and still are) gripped by the America's Sweethearts and season one boasts a very, very impressive 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In light of the second series recently being released, the Dallas Cowboys are being talked about once more and the strict rules that allegedly have to follow has been revealed.

As per Cosmopolitan, these are the 23 rules the cheerleaders have to follow:

1) You have to look 'well-proportioned' in dance wear
