Sometimes, a series that aired a while back just doesn't hold up as well as we remember - however, this 2017 series doesn't seem to have that problem.

In fact, it's been branded as the 'best' and 'brilliant' by viewers over on the Netflix Bangers Facebook group.

And if there's one thing the Facebook page is likely to supply is a whole host of film and TV shows that are well worth your time, and there's something for everyone - ranging from a 'banger' pirate series to a 'gripping' crime series based on the lives of an Australian crime family.

However, the show in question, which concluded in 2022 after four seasons, is leaving fans in ‘envy’ of those who haven’t watched it yet.

Ozark follows Marty Bryde (Jason Bateman) as he deals with the repercussions of a money-laundering scheme gone wrong.

In order to appeal the Mexican cartel he works for, he sets up another scheme in central Missouri.

Also starring The Truman Show's Laura Linney as Martin's wife Wendy, fans are sent on an emotional rollercoaster as much-loved characters often found themselves in grave danger - and the show ended up concluding very dramatically.

You can watch the trailer for season 4 here:

A Netflix subscriber who has seemingly never watched the show took to the Netflix Bangers to ask for some 'honest' reviews on the series - and Ozark viewers delivered on that.

"So good that I envy those who haven’t watched it yet," one Facebook user commented, while a second added: "Awesome !!! We have watched it twice ! Really enjoyed it."

A third quipped: "One of the best series I have ever set my eyes on. Most definitely get it watched!!"

Following Ozark's conclusion, Bateman spoke to Variety about the legacy the series will leave.

When asked how it feels to say goodbye, the actor said: "It felt really good to finish something that we all worked so hard to try to do in a somewhat specific and precise way.

"I’d like to think everybody got pretty close to the ambitious target we were looking to hit with the show, but I also realize that it gets progressively harder to end on a high note the longer you stay.

"You’re bound to plank it eventually."

Binge-watching has become a rather common way for people to consume their media - but was Ozark produced with binge-watching in mind?

Well, according to Bateman, it's 'not really' intended for that.

He said: "There’s a lot of good shows on right now that are taking advantage of this long-form style. [Showrunner] Chris Mundy and his group did a great job of making each episode satisfying in a self-contained way, but also putting in the requisite — I hate the word cliff-hanger, but stuff to get you eager to see the next episode.

"There was always something that left you needing more. They really took advantage of just how broad and deep this ensemble is."
