Why Netflix fans are obsessed with ‘spicy’ mini-series binged for 37.2 million hours

The drama has smashed fans' expectations

Netflix subscribers are hooked on a 'spicy' new mini-series that's storming the most-watched charts.

With only weeks to go until the new year, right now is the perfect time to get stuck into an addictive new drama and distract ourselves from the unrelenting passage of time...

The series in question has already been viewed for more than 37.2 million hours, according to data from FlixPatrol.

And there's a clear reason why it's proven so popular...

The show ranked as the third most-watched TV series globally on Tuesday (December 2), behind only Claire Danes drama The Beast in Me and the Duffer Brothers' Stranger Things. At the time of writing, the show had slipped down to fifth place, with Sean Combs: The Reckoning and supernatural AMC thriller Talamasca: The Secret Order making moves up the Netflix charts.

The gripping drama, set in Korea, centers on a single woman called Go Da-rim, who pretends to be a married mom to land a job at a baby products company.

But what starts as one little white lie quickly spirals when she meets her sharp, stoic team leader, Gong Ji-hyeok.

One impulsive kiss 'turns their office lives delightfully upside down', Netflix says, as they embark on an 'unpredictable' affair.

Da-rim is played by Ahn Eun-jin, who you may well recognize from the popular K-drama, Genie, Make a Wish, which wrapped up in October.

The Atypical Family's Jang Ki-yong stars as Ji-hyeok, whose world begins to unravel when he crosses paths with Da-rim.

The popular series we're talking about is called Dynamite Kiss, and it's been hailed as among the best rom-com dramas of recent times.

"Dynamite Kiss surprised me in the best way," one fan wrote on IMDB.

"I went in expecting a simple rom-com, but that first chaotic kiss sets off a story that's messy, funny, and strangely honest," they added.

But the reason the show is so raved about, viewers claim, is down to the lead actors' electrifying chemistry.

Rating the show a 10/10, one fan said: "The two leads are absolute fire and their chemistry is blazing. For a fresh change, we didn't have to wait until episode 8 for the kiss.

"And. What. A. Kiss."

A second weighed in: "Oh my Lord. I can literally smell the chemistry from here."

Multiple other viewers hailed the show 'spicy' and 'exciting'.

As of December 3, six of 14 total Dynamite Kiss episodes have aired.

The final seven are released each Thursday, with the finale falling on Christmas Day.

"I'm hooked for the rest of the journey," one viewer wrote, as another hoped the remaining episodes would live up to fans' expectations
