And fans say they enjoyed it so much they've struggled to find any other shows that live up to it. So, proceed with caution...
The series ran on TNT for six seasons between 2016 and 2022 before making Netflix its new home.
It's also based on a 2010 Australian movie, which is in turn inspired by the real-life Pettingill family from Melbourne.

The US version of their story is based in Southern California and follows Joshua 'J' Cody (Finn Cole).
His mom has just died from a drug overdose, and he's forced to move in with his estranged family.
Their lavish lifestyle is fueled by a criminal empire, with his grandmother, Janine 'Smurf' Cody (Ellen Barkin), at the helm.
The pressure is on as J must earn his place in the family business, confronting felonies from armed robbery and drug trafficking to money laundering and murder.

The series in question is 'wild ride,' Animal Kingdom.
Netflix subscribers recently discussed the show on Reddit after someone asked for recommendations that 'actually keep you hooked.'

"What are some shows on Netflix that pulled you in right away and actually stayed good until the end?" the original poster asked.

The top answer was, of course, Animal Kingdom.
"My absolute favorite," a second agreed, as a third chipped in: "I’ve now watched all six series and cannot recommend it enough.
"There’s a hole in my life now I’ve finished it!"
A third labeled it a cross between Shameless and Sons of Anarchy, as a third admitted: "Animal Kingdom got me so hooked! I started it last week and I’m already on season four."
The conversation continued over on the Netflix Bangers Facebook page, where one fan described it as a 'wild ride a ride of a show.'
"Six seasons, we took our time with it and loved it, but the end... I’m not okay..."

Others said they hadn't quite found a show that filled the void.
"Finished it last week and still can’t bring myself to start a new series!" one person admitted.
