Netflix fans are hooked on a 'beyond amazing' mini-series that's been binge-watched for more than 19 million hours.

The popular streaming service is home to 2,500 TV shows, from dramas based on real-life disasters to documentaries on hard-hitting true crime cases.

But fans have been 'yanked in' by a new show they're binge-watching in just one day.

According to FlixPatrol data, the TV series is at the top of the Netflix global charts, having been watched for over 19 million hours since its November 7 release.

Behind it in the rankings are season five of The Witcher and the latest instalment of Squid Game: The Challenge.

Coincidentally, this '10/10' drama stars Squid Game's Lee You-mi, who became the first Korean actress to win an Emmy for her performance as Ji-yeong - better known as Player 240 - in the Netflix smash hit.

The newly released drama stars Lee as former children's novelist Jo Hui-su, who reconnects with her childhood friend, Jo Eun-su, a saleswoman at a luxury department store.

Hui-su is stuck in an abusive marriage, while Eun-su is dealing with trauma from a violent upbringing.

The pair hatch a plan to murder Hui-su's husband, Noh Jin-pyo (The Good Detective's Jang Seung-jo), but, as the show's synopsis reads, 'what seems to be a foolproof plan goes horribly awry when someone from their past begins to threaten them'.

The TV series in question is called As You Stood By, and it's based on the book Naomi & Kanako by Japanese author Hideo Okuda.

A Japanese TV adaptation of the novel also dropped in 2016.

On IMDb, one fan rated the new show a 10/10 and described it as a 'masterpiece.'

"People should watch this type of series more often so we don't get lost in fantasies and forget what's happening in the world," they added.

A second viewer summed it up as 'raw and devastating,' adding: "This series is dark... Not just visually, but deep down, psychologically and emotionally."

They admitted to being 'instantly yanked in' by the series.

"I was completely obsessed with the main character's life," they continued, before praising the show's 'brilliant' narrative and 'grounding' performances.

A third social media user said they 'binged the whole thing in one day,' adding: "That should tell you everything."

They continued: "Thrilling, captivating, and honestly enthralling from the get go. The story reels you in at pace and doesn't let go; every episode leaves you wanting more."
