
A 'must-see' TV series has been hailed the 'drama of the year' by Netflix subscribers.

From a gripping mini-series dubbed the 'better Game of Thrones' to a 'gorgeous' chart-crashing K-drama, Netflix has been on a roll with its original dramas at the moment.

Running for 13 episodes, the drama began streaming on Netflix on October 3.
Since, it's racked up more than 102 million hours watched, according to FlixPatrol.
Set across South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, the 'slice of life' drama centers on Ka-young (Bae Suzy), a woman who lacks both empathy strong emotions.

One day, while visiting Dubai, she accidentally frees a genie called Iblis (Kim Woo-bin), who's been stuck in a lamp for almost a thousand years.

The genie, naturally, grants her three wishes - but not everything is as it seems, and Iblis has a secret agenda which is challenged when the pair begin to fall for each other.
The series in question is called Genie, Make a Wish. At the time of writing, it's the seventh most-watched Netflix series globally, according to FlixPatrol data.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the drama earned a solid 83 percent score from critics.
One review described it as 'highly engaging' from the first episode, while another summed it up as a 'a wickedly hilarious treat.'
Fans had plenty of positive things to add, as one stated: "Best of the best this year."

Another echoed: "The best drama of the year. I highly recommend it... really enjoyable."
"Absolute Must-See! I love this series," a third said.
"Unexpected. A great binge worthy K-drama. The ending perfectly wraps up the show," somebody else wrote.
Others were obsessed with Suzy and Woo-Bin's chemistry, as some hoped to see them reunite once more.

The discussion continued over on Reddit, where fans took to the r/Kdramas community to share their thoughts.
"It’s very unexpectedly funny," one fan wrote. "I find myself laughing out loud at the absurdity of some things. On episode 7 so far and liking it quite a lot."
A second admitted to 'binge-watching' the entire thing, adding: "It was a comedy but heartbreaking and heartwarming as well."
