As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into cinemas, it seems audiences can’t get enough of the titular web-slinger.
Despite a third instalment of the franchise being scheduled for next year, recent reports suggested the film might be delayed.
Now, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have responded to these claims in a recent interview.

The Spiderverse movies have been a huge win for Sony, with the animation introducing a new audience to Miles Morales as Spider-Man.
However, there have been numerous reports that the final film could be delayed for a number of reasons, including the ongoing writers’ strike and complaints of stressful working conditions behind the scenes.
In fact, a recent Vulture article spoke to artists involved in the film’s production, with one alleging that they worked overtime to get Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse released on time - causing 100 people to walk away from the project.
They told the outlet: “They’ve announced that Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released in March of next year. I’ve seen people say, ‘Oh, they probably worked on it at the same time.’ There’s no way that movie’s coming out then.”
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the franchise, producers Lord and Miller have now responded to rumors of a delay.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Lord said: “I would say that just like we're going to take the time necessary to make Beyond the Spider-Verse great.”
To which, Miller added: "And we won't back into a release date that doesn't fit."
Having confirmed that the final movie could possibly be delayed, it's now unclear whether it will still be released in late March 2024.
Without giving away the twist, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse sees Miles Morales reunite with other superheroes from across the multiverse, including: Gwen Stacey (Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson).
However, the teenager will need even to meet even more Spidermen as they attempt to defeat the villainous Spot (Jason Schwartzman).
Also known as Dr Johnathan Ohnn, the former scientist turned into a supervillain following an accident, which left his body covered in interdimensional portals.
Ostracized from society, Spot now leads a life of crime across the multi-verse with Miles being the only one who might be able to defeat the devious doc.
With a third film possibly delayed, we suggest you catch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in cinemas while you still can.
