A woman over a century old has shared her tips to living a long life.

Teresa Moore has revealed exactly what she does to keep so young after all of these years - 103, to be exact.

The pensioner has explained the importance of finding things that give her 'energy' when it comes to living a happy life.

It seems that Teresa really is the definition of the saying that age is just a number.

The woman has shared the secret to living a long and happy life and considering she is now over 100 years old - we should probably all be taking her nuggets of wisdom on board.

Speaking on Good Day LA, the senior citizen explained exactly what she did to remain so energized after over a century of life.

The 103-year-old revealed that the big secret was simply down to fitness and moving your body.

Teresa regularly hits the gym at least three times every single week.

While she may not fit the archetype of a gym bunny, Teresa hits the gym at least three times every single week.

Not bad for a pensioner at all.

Teresa said her gym antics give her 'energy' as she cranks her pulse up a few notches every time she hops on the treadmill or lifts some weights.

Her daughter, Sheila Moore, has explained that the gym is her mom's happy place.

She said: "That's where she meets her friends.

"I think mother is a curious person. When she left Italy, she lived a vagabond life and I think curiosity was a big motivating factor."

Teresa currently lives in Camarillo, California, yet was originally from Italy.

Self-described as a 'military bride', Teresa has traveled all around the world with her now late husband who she first tied the knot with way back in 1946.

While the pensioner currently lives on her own, she makes sure to check out local events going on near her like the opera or heading out to play bridge.

    Wholesome or what?

And, for this 103-year-old, the secret to a long and happy life is totally straight-forward with no frills attached.

"Try to be happy," she told Good Day LA.

"Try to think of good things - to think everything is beautiful, to think beautiful things," Teresa explained.

In short, if you live life to fullest with no regrets and perhaps try to hit the gym a few times a week - then you too could maybe live to over a hundred years old.
