Travis Kelce’s dad reveals exact details of his proposal to Taylor Swift and fans are losing their minds

Travis Kelce's dad has shared more details about his son's engagement to Taylor Swift.

Yesterday (August 26), Taylor and Travis announced on Instagram that they're engaged after two years of dating. Less than 24 hours later and the post has been liked over 26 million times.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," the 'Love Story' hitmaker captioned the now-viral post.

While they've only just announced their happy news, apparently Travis actually popped the question around two weeks ago.

His dad, Ed Kelce, told News 5: "Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago.

"He was going to put it off until this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event."

Sharing the advice he gave his son, Ed continued: "I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event ... when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you."

Apparently, Taylor's dad echoed similar sentiments to the Kansas City Chiefs star.

With this timeline in mind, Taylor's fans have been doing the math and worked out that it was around the time the global superstar featured on Travis' podcast New Heights.

People thought Travis was nervous to have his girlfriend on the podcast for the first time, but now there's been suggestions that he was acting a bit different because he knew we was about to ask Taylor to marry him.

"We thought Travis was nervous to have her on the podcast but it’s because he was about to propose what the hell," someone said on Twitter.

Another person wrote: "Wait HOLD ON, Taylor and Travis filmed the podcast episode on August 10 where Travis said the most romantic things i've ever heard someone say to Taylor, and then they got dressed and went to dinner where travis led her out to a beautiful garden & proposed."

"Ed Kelce spilling that Travis proposed the same day they filmed the podcast which means we got the last few hours of Taylor swift before she became a fiancee," said another Swiftie online.

They added that Travis had 'the face of a man who was going to propose in a few hours'.
