Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announce they are engaged in touching post

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have confirmed they're engaged.

The much-loved couple confirmed news of their engagement on Instagram where Swift shared a series of photos, including one showing Kelce on one knee in a garden full of flowers.

Other images showed the 'Shake It Off' singer showing off a large diamond on her ring finger, as well as the newly engaged couple embracing.

Alongside the post, Swift wrote: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

News of the engagement comes after a very public and beloved relationship blossomed between the two, with Swift and Kelce having first been seen together in September 2023, following a home game for the Kansas City Chiefs, where Kelce and his team defeated the Chicago Bears.

In 2023, Kelce later revealed that he'd attempted to get a friendship bracelet to Swift with his phone number on - but it didn't work.

He later opened up more on how their romance began, revealing that the two had already been talking before they met up for the first time in New York.

In the months that followed, the Chief’s Tight End had Swift's support at several of his games, including Super Bowl LVXIII, where the football player and Swift shared a kiss following the conclusion of the big game.

Since the end of Kelce’s successful 2023/2024 NFL season, Kelce was seen on the stage of the singer's hugely successful Eras Tour.

While the pair had been seen in public and on the field in the past, the NFL's star appearance on Swift's stage saw him enter his beau's domain for the first time.

Many fans have expected the couple to get engaged, with rampant speculation among Swifties online leading up to the big moment for the two superstars.

The proposal also comes just days after Swift appeared on Kelce's New Heights podcast, where she announced her upcoming album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'.

It also comes following reports that Kelce didn’t have marriage on his mind in May 2024, with insiders telling Us Weekly that it could take time for the couple to get to this point.

“It’s not even on his radar,” sources told Us Weekly at the time. “Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”

Before their engagement, the celebrity couple have had many sweet moments together, the majority of them being after Kelce has played in the NFL.

Moments after Kelce left the field in a match, Swift could be seen hugging, kissing and chatting with Kelce while confetti swirled around them in a moment fans have dubbed as 'wholesome'.
