Taylor Swift speaks on Matty Healy and Joe Alwyn breakups in very rare comment

During the first part of her sell-out Eras Tour, Taylor Swift was also managing a broken heart after two quick-fire breakups - but how did she get through it?

Now, the 'Shake It Off' singer is all loved up with NFL star Travis Kelce, it's easy to forget that she had romances with the 1975 frontman Matty Healy, as well as actor Joe Alwyn.

Swift broke up with Alwyn in early 2023 after around six years together. And while speculation about the couple's split grew, Entertainment Tonight reported that it was 'amicable' and 'not dramatic'.

The pop star was then linked to Healy in May 2023, after she attended a 1975 concert and they were seen out and about together.

However, that relationship reportedly came to an abrupt end a month later in June 2023, just months after Swift started her worldwide tour.

Now the Eras Tour is all said and done, a docuseries called Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era is available to stream on Disney+, offering a unique insight into all the behind-the-scenes action.

And in one clip, Swift shared a rare insight into the breakups after splitting with both Alwyn and Healy within months of each other during the early days of her tour.

"There were points in this tour where the tour was really the only thing keeping me going in my life," she said. "But there were never points in the tour where I thought, ‘Oh I want to quit the tour because the tour is hard.’ No, my personal life was hard."

The singer continued: "I went through two breakups on the first half of this tour. That’s a lot of breakups, actually. This show is what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed.

"The tour has never been the hard thing in my life. The tour has been the thing that allowed me to find purpose outside of the s**t that was going on in my life."

Concluding the admission, Swift said: "Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will."

Swift is, of course, now engaged to Kelce, with the celebrity power couple announcing the exciting news back in August.

The pair shared a series of photos on Instagram, including one showing Kelce on one knee in a garden full of flowers.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," the singer wrote, alongside a dynamite emoji.
