Matt Healy's mom has been speaking about her son's past relationship with Taylor Swift, some two years after the former celebrity couple broke up.
While Healy, the lead singer of British indie-rock band The 1975, is thought to have known Swift for quite some time, the pair's romantic relationship is not believed to have lasted very long.
Nonetheless, the 'Shake It Off' singer released an entire album titled The Tortured Poets Department last year that fans think seemingly referenced her time with Healy.

Fans suggested that numerous songs referenced him in some way - naming 'Gulity as Sin', 'Black Dog', 'Fresh out the Slammer', and 'The Tortured Poet's Department' among a few others.

Denise Welch, Healy's mother, appeared on Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (July 24), where she was asked about Swift's album.
Host Andy Cohen quizzed Welch about the relevance the album has to her son and she responded: "Not being her mother-in-law is a role I’m glad that I lost."

The admission led to a few gasps from the audience before Welch clarified her comments by saying: "Not that I have anything against her, at all. It was just, you know, it was tricky.
"Listen, you’re not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it. Matty is taking it all in completely good grace.
"He’s very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella - Gabbriette - who is gorgeous. We've moved on."
Healy and Swift first met in 2014, with rumors surrounding a romance swirling for a while as Swift attended multiple 1975 concerts and rocked the band's merchandise.
They struck up a romance that went public in May 2023, but broke up just a month later in June.

Healy was asked by reporters while he was out in Los Angeles, upon the release of the new album, whether he had any comment about many of the tracks seemingly referencing him.
"I haven't really listened to that much of it, but I'm sure it's good," he replied.

Welch took a similar approach when she was asked about the relationship as the topic came up on British daytime show Loose Women last year.

Fellow panellist Nadia Sawalha asked Welch: "Taylor Swift has got a new album out, have you heard it Denise?"
Welch quipped in response: "I wasn't aware she had an album out at all. I haven't heard anything about it."
As the somewhat discussion changed topic, Welch quipped: "Anyway, I wish her all the best."
