Travis Kelce says he wanted to kiss Taylor Swift in resurfaced clip

The video was recorded while Kelce was promoting his reality dating show in 2016

A resurfaced clip shows that Travis Kelce wanted to ‘kiss’ Taylor Swift for a lot longer than he is letting on.

On Sunday, 24 September, the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker caused a frenzy when she attended a Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears.

The NFL game appearance came days after Kelce, 33, appeared on The Pat McAfee Show podcast and told the host he had ‘thrown the ball in her court’ after attending Swift’s Eras Tour in July.

Now, it seems like the tight end had hopes of locking lips with Taylor Swift, 33, in 2016 - at least hypothetically.

While promoting his reality dating show, Catching Kelce, the American football player played a game of ‘Kiss, Marry, Kill’ with AfterBuzz TV.

And when given the choice of Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Swift, Kelce made his intentions clear.

“Damn, that’s messed up,” he said. “I don’t want to kill any of them."

But he had to choose and decided to kill Ariana, unfortunately.

"Love you, but you’re gone.” Kelce added.

Kelce named Taylor Swift as the person he'd 'kiss' in 2016.

After further pondering the dilemma, he continued: “Taylor Swift would be the kiss.”

Sadly, Taylor was narrowly beaten out by Katy Perry as the woman that Kelce would want to marry.

Rumours regarding Kelce’s crush on the ‘Bad Blood’ singer began circulating earlier this year when he said he was ‘disappointed’ that he was unable to link up with her during her show in Kansas City.

"I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he told his brother and Philadelphia Eagles centre, Jason Kelce, on his New Heights podcast.

“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”

After Swift sparked a social media meltdown by attending Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium, the brothers headed to their podcast to debrief.

Taylor Swift was the subject of Kelce and his brother's latest podcast episode.

During the most recent episode, Jason opened the proceedings by saying: “We’ve been avoiding this subject out of respect for your personal life — now we’ve got to talk about it.”

His brother replied: “My personal life that is not so personal. I did this to myself, Jason — I know this.

“I’m on the roller coaster, man, the rollercoaster of life. I might have noticed a few things, like paparazzi outside my house.

“They all have British accents, too, or something European. They have a camera in their hands, and they’re screaming my name.”

After being asked how it felt to be ‘put on the map’ by Swift, Kelce replied: “Shout out to Taylor for pulling up.

“That was pretty ballsy, that was pretty ballsy. I just thought it was pretty awesome that everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her.”

However, the 33-year-old went on to claim that he now wants to keep his and Swift’s personal lives ‘private’.

“She’s not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys’ shows." Kelce said.

“I’m enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend, so everything moving forward, I think me talking about sports and saying ‘All right nah’ will have to be kind of where I keep it.”
