Taylor Swift fans have concerning theory about necklace she wore to Grammys and Super Bowl

After Taylor Swift left the Grammys empty-handed and her boyfriend's team lost the Super Bowl 2025, Swifties have developed a concerning theory about the singer's seemingly recent string of bad luck.

In 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs bagged a consecutive Super Bowl win and Swift gained her fourth accolade for ‘Album of the Year’ at the Grammy Awards.

It’s safe to say it was a year full of wins for the singer and her beau Travis Kelce, but it also piled on the pressure heading into 2025 with the same stakes at play.

Swift was up for 'Album of the Year' again and Kelce was heading to the Super Bowl for a third consecutive year - until their hopes were dashed.

Now, following a heartbreaking loss for the Chiefs on Sunday and after Swift left the Grammy Awards empty-handed, Swifities have decided they think something else could be responsible for the couple's series of defeats.

Swifties think that a new piece of jewellry in the singer's wardrobe could be cursed after she wore it to both the Grammy Awards this year and the Super Bowl game.

The 'Cardigan' singer sent fans wild with excitement when she walked the Grammys red carpet this year with a seeming tribute to her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend in the shape of a 'T' chain on her upper thigh.

Photos of the pendant quickly spread across the internet and it fuelled her fandom's ever-growing excitement about one of the world's biggest couples, especially after she was spotted wearing it during last night's game too.

But given this was the only new and common factor at the Grammys and Super Bowl, they think it might actually be causing Swift and her beau some bad luck.

One wrote on Twitter: “It’s the damn ’T’ necklace she had it at the Grammys and got snubbed, now she wrote it again and her team lost. Taylor please buy another one and let that one go.”

Another added: “Taylor Swift take that T necklace OFF it’s a curse.”

The theory comes after the Chiefs lost by 40 to 22 to the Eagles, in what marked their third consecutive play off at the NFL Championship final.

Swift has been an avid supporter of her boyfriend’s career since the beginning of their relationship, attending countless games and often embracing him on the green after a win.

Ahead of the game, rumors had even started to swirl about whether NFL tight end Kelce was going to pop the question to Swift if his team snagged a third win.

But his team’s loss on Sunday certainly put those rumors to bed, with Kelce himself remarking post-match: “We haven’t played that badly all year.” Could some greater forces be at play?

And the Chiefs’ defeat wasn’t the only unfortunate display to come out of Sunday night’s game, as Swift was also met with a deafening round of boos when the audience camera settled on her at one point in the evening - leaving the singer visibly perplexed.

While that puts a wrap on the football season until September, it remains to be seen if Swift will heed her fans’ advice.
