Taylor Swift revealed there was one particular subject she avoided while giving a speech at her good friend Selena Gomez's wedding.

The duo have been close friends since 2008 after meeting through Disney pop band the Jonas Brothers.

Swift was linked with Joe, while Gomez was seeing youngest brother, Nick.

Gomez recalled how she and Swift 'just clicked', adding that their friendship 'was the best thing we got out of those relationships,' speaking to KISS FM UK back in 2017.

Fast forward to now, and the women are just as close - and both feeling pretty lucky in love.

On September 27, Gomez tied the knot with music producer and songwriter Benny Blanco at a lavish ceremony in Santa Barbara, California.

The loved-up pair said 'I do' after around two years of dating, having got engaged 18 months in.

Among those celebrating their big day was Swift, who was chosen to give a speech at their ceremony.

The artist is currently riding the high of her twelfth album release, The Life of a Showgirl, as well as her recent engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce.

The pair got engaged after Swift recorded for Kelce's New Heights podcast on August 13, a little more than six weeks before Gomez and Benny got hitched.

And on Monday's (October 6) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Swift revealed she had a strict rule to follow while giving her wedding speech.

We've all seen those viral videos of couples either getting engaged or announcing their pregnancies at other people's weddings.

Well, Swift most definitely wanted to avoid becoming one of those people.

Speaking to Fallon, she gushed about Gomez: "I got to see her be the most elegant, gorgeous, not only bride, but just vision that I’ve ever sen in my life.

I’ve never seen anything so beautiful as her on her wedding day. And she deserves all of this happiness."

She went on: "I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement.

"Nobody wants you to be like, ‘Hey, I know this is your wedding day, but like,’" she added, dramatically pointing to her engagement ring.

Fallon added: "It's not about you!" as Swift agreed: "Maybe turn it around. Do you know what I mean?"

Swift did include some 'light teasing' about the fashion from 2008, however.

She described it as 'quite the year', with 'deep, deep v-necks' and 'aggressively colorful skinny jeans'.

"Selena’s fave outfit was a long tank top, skinny jeans, and a tiny little vest," Swift recalled.

She resolved that she spoke about how grateful she was for her friendship with Gomez, and to be part of her life, without making it about her.
