A Super Bowl commentator apparently made a savage dig about Travis Kelce as Taylor Swift appeared on camera.

Kelce and his fellow red Kansas City Chiefs didn't quite take home the trophy during last night's Super Bowl LIX game as they lost out to a heavy defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40 to 22 in the New Orleans Caesars Superdome.

However, the comprehensive defeat isn't the only thing people are talking about - notably Kelce and his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who had shown up to cheer on her beau on the field.

During the broadcast, a commentator appeared to make a dig at the NFL star.

Fox cut to the 35-year-old hitmaker as the Chiefs were suffering 17-0 before halftime.

During this moment, the commentator could be heard saying: "Well, Taylor Swift is in attendance... but she hasn't had much to cheer about yet because Travis Kelce hasn't caught a ball."

The moment has since gone viral on social media with many laughing at the savage dig.

One person wrote on Twitter: "The commentator said, Taylor Swift is here but not much cheering from her right now, I was screamingggg."

"This commentator is PETTY!!" joked another.

A third chimed: "The commentator got me tickled at 'you can see Taylor swift there. She doesn’t have much to celebrate, Travis hasn’t caught a ball'."

"Sports be a lil messy," another jibed.

The comment comes as Swift apparently didn't have a very good night as she was booed by NFL fans when she appeared on the big screen.

However, Kelce's was arguably worse as the Chiefs tight end was spotted looking very emotional following the brutal Eagles defeat and admitted a 'lot of things were going wrong' in his post-game interview.

As per KMBC, he told reporters pitch side in New Orleans: "I think there were a lot of things going wrong. The whole night, it was an accumulative of everything. It's going to hurt."

Kelce was also keen to put growing rumors to bed that it would be his last NFL match.

Just days before the big game, he said he hoped he would be 'still playing football' in the years to come, adding: "I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I still got a lot of good football left in me."

He continued: "We'll see what happens. I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That's always been the goal, knowing that football only lasts for so long."

"For the most part, I'm planning on being a Kansas City Chief and playing football."
