Katy Perry divides opinion over 'inappropriate photo' with Justin Trudeau after they 'hard launch' relationship

The pair have finally 'hard launched' their relationship

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have gone fully public with their relationship while visiting Japan together, but some have criticized one little detail about a photo posted of the pair.

It's been no secret that Perry and the former Canadian Prime Minister have been spotted together on several occasions in recent months, following the singer's split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, but they now appear to have gone fully official.

A snap of the couple shows them in Japan together, with the pair being seen beaming as they met the country's former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and his wife Yuko.

Taking to social media after the meeting, Kishida appeared to confirm absolutely 100 percent, in case there was any doubt, that things are official.

A caption translated from Japanese read: “Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch."

But there was one thing that some people criticized about the meeting.

And this was Perry's choice of outfit for the meeting.

The 'Fireworks' singer wore a camo green two piece outfit consisting of a jacket with two buttons starting from her neck and a miniskirt, paired with a black turtleneck top underneath, dark coloured tights, and black leather boots.

Meanwhile, Trudeau donned a grey slim-fitting suit paired with a pale blue shirt underneath, a tie, and black formal shoes.

Of course, this being the internet, many people took issue with Perry's choice of outfit for the meeting.

One wrote: “Her outfit looks absolutely inappropriate for this type of diplomatic engagement," as another posted: “Can she get a fashion adviser?! Short skirt and the boots [hides face emoji].”

But others directed their criticism towards Kishida, and specifically that he only named Perry as Trudeau's partner in the post, with one person writing: “Sir this is the Katy Perry you’re talking about," while another replied: “U meant @katyperry and her partner* Mr Kishida.”

Not everyone was in such a critical mood though, with some simply gushing about how happy they are for the now official couple.

“I just know that Justin is the new MINISTER of her Heart ️and we are SO HAPPY FOR THAT !!!!”, wrote one.

Meanwhile, another posted: “Your happiness is our happiness. All the love to you!”

Trudeau reposted the picture of the meeting onto his own account on X, saying: “‘Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.

"Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”

Perry also posted her own loved-up snap of herself and Trudeau on Instagram, captioning the post: "tokyo times on tour and more."
