MrBeast hits back at claims he ‘ruined YouTube’

He said the accusation is 'insanely disrespectful'

MrBeast hit out at fellow YouTuber Jacksepticeye after he accused him of ‘ruining YouTube’.

MrBeast is one of the world’s most well-known YouTubers with over 180 million subscribers, making him the most-subscribed individual user on the platform.

He’s best known for his expensive stunts and challenges - including launched a real life Squid Game - and also uses his fame and fortune for good.

Earlier this year, the YouTuber splashed out for 1,000 people to have cataract surgery carried out, giving them their vision back and has given away more than $1 million over the last six months or so.

However, it seems that not everyone is a fan, with Jacksepticeye - real name Seán William McLoughlin - taking aim at MrBeast in a recent clip.

In the video, which was uploaded to YouTuber Tommyinit's channel, Jacksepticeye is hooked to a polygraph machine and was asked if he ‘liked MrBeast’ to which he replied ‘no’ and the answer was found to be truthful.

He was then asked if he believed MrBeast had ‘ruined YouTube’, to which he said ‘yes’ and, once again, was deemed to be telling the truth.

Jacksepticeye did a lie detector test where he said he believed MrBeast ‘ruined YouTube’.

He was then asked why he thought that, and responded: “Because it became more about views, money and popularity than having fun.”

The YouTuber went on to say that MrBeast didn’t appear to be having fun in his videos, saying: “If he had fun doing those videos, they’d be longer.”

After the clip was posted on X, previously known as Twitter, it soon came to the attention of MrBeast - real name Jimmy Donaldson - who was not impressed with what he saw.

In a since-deleted post, MrBeast said: “Sooo, I ‘ruined YouTube’ because I didn’t buy a mansion and sports cars and instead reinvested my $ into making content/focused on doing good and inspiring kids to help people?

The pair have since made it up.

“‘If he had fun the videos would be longer’ what does that even mean lol. You think I’d give up every hour of my life for 14 years if I didn’t have fun?

“This clip is insanely disrespectful imo and obviously there is so much I could say about his content but I’ll take the punches and be the bigger man. Sigh.”

However, it appears the pair have since patched things up, with MrBeast deleting the post and confirming that they’d cleared the air.

Replying to a post sharing the polygraph clip, he wrote: “We messaged, we’re Gucci now.”

To which Jacksepticeye also replied with a cowboy and thumbs up emoji.
