Matt Damon makes rare public appearance with his three youngest daughters

The AIR actor was joined by three of his four daughters at the film's premiere.

Matt Damon had some very special guests at the premiere of his new film this week - his three youngest daughters.

The 52-year-old Bourne franchise star was accompanied by his wife, Luciana Barroso, and their children at the premiere of Air on Monday (27 March).

The couple posed for photos on the red carpet at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, California along with Isabella, 16, Gia, 14 and Stella, 12.

Their 24-year-old step-sister, Alexia, who Luciana welcomed in a previous relationship, was absent.

As a dad to four daughters, the Good Will Hunting star once said he ‘never expected to be surrounded’ by so many women, during a 2012 interview with Today.

“But it’s great,” he gushed. “You never know which way life’s going to take you. I’m learning so much, not the least of which is how much smarter girls are. I operated under the assumption that is guys had a chance, but I realised when I was completely wrapped around my two-year-old’s [Stella’s] finger and she knew it."

“If they can do that to us at two years old, when they’re fully grown we really don’t stand a chance,” he added.

Damon is rarely seen out with his daughters, however, he has spoken about them many times over the years.

The actor admitted in a 2016 interview that he stopped using the ‘f-slur’ after one of his daughters taught him why it’s offensive.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, the Hollywood star said he no longer uses the slur after she wrote him a treatise explaining ‘how that word is dangerous’.

“The word that my daughter calls the ‘f-slur for a homosexual’ was commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application,” he said, as the conversation switched to modern masculinity.

“I made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter.

"She left the table. I said, ‘Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!’

"She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous.

"I said, ‘I retire the f-slur!’ I understood.”

It is not revealed in the interview which daughter Damon is referring to.

Air is a drama, starring Damian Young as a young Michael Jordan with Damon in the role of shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro. It tells the story of how Nike pursued him to create Air Jordans.

Air will be released on 7 April.
