Kylie Jenner denied access to Doja Cat's Met Gala afterparty

'They shut the door down because it was over capacity'

Kylie Jenner was left face on Monday night as reports are doing the rounds that the reality TV star was denied access to Doja Cat’s Met Gala party.

Kylie was spotted walking away from the party on 1 May hosted by hospitality guru, Richie Akiva, Doja Cat and Diddy at the Box before she even went in.

“They wouldn’t let her in,” a witness told Page Six

“They shut the door down because it was over capacity.”

The star was left red faced.

Tongues were wagging further still as another source told the publication that the youngest Kardashian/Jenner sister arrived after midnight to join her sister Kendall Jenner and her beau, Bad Bunny, who were already inside.

But the late hour and over 100 hopeful partygoers clamouring to get in meant it was a 'chaotic scene'.

While VIP Kylie was certainly invited and there were plans for her to enter via a discreet side door, she apparently got out of the car before the event organisers were ready for her.

The source informed the publication: “She prematurely got out of her car."

“Then she decided to go home because she didn’t want to be at a crowded party. She rarely goes to clubs.”

And it seems Kylie wasn't the only star to be snubbed as Janelle Monae, fresh from a Boom Boom Room performance and Gossip Girl actor, Evan Mock - and a ball-park 200 people - were also turned away as the venue was at capacity,

Doja Cat was hosting with some other celeb friends.

“The door was rushed by crowds many times," a third source told Page Six, which seems to fit reports that police were present to manage the crowds and clear the sidewalk.

One witness said: “At 6 a.m., a line of limos and SUVs were down the street.”

Those who made the edit include Gisele Bündchen, Emily Ratajkowski, Mary J Blige, Lil Nas X, Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell, Edward Enninful and Jared Leto (or was it Choupette)?

The youngest Jenner has had awkward interactions with Doja Cat before.

One spy informed the publication that Chris Rock hit the dance floor, co-host Diddy took the mic for 20 minutes and the waiters were dressed like, Karl Lagerfeld. (naturally).

This wasn't the first awkward interaction between Doja Cat and Kylie, as cameras captured an awkward interaction at Paris Fashion Week back in January.

In a clip that did the rounds on Twitter - and is now an iconic meme - the pair acknowledge each other as cameras flash in the background with what appears to be some serious passive aggressive energy.

You can see the toe-curling exchange below:

Kylie was wearing a sleek, black Schiaparelli dress with a huge faux lion head, while Doja Cat wore an all-red, all-covered red number, by Danielle Roseberry, which saw the 'Say So' singer covered in 30,000 Swarovski crystal.

When their eyes awkwardly meet, Doja tips her head and says, "Nice to meet you," as the reality TV star looks her competition up and down.
