Doja Cat has been criticised for vaping at his year's Met Gala after having already gone through two throat surgeries before the age of 26.
The 'Say So' singer, now aged 27, was in hospital last year after undergoing her second throat surgery to remove an abscess that was causing severe pain.
However, last night she was caught puffing on her e-cig while dressed in her Karl Lagerfeld-inspired cat dress at the Met Gala.
In May last year, Doja informed her followers that she underwent tonsil surgery.
She said: "dr. just had to cut into my left tonsil.
"i had an abscess in it. my whole throat is f**ked so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon.
"he poked up in dere [sic] with a needle twice and then sucked all the juice out and then he took a sharp thing and cut it in two places and squoze [sic] all the goop out in dere [sic].
"i cried and it hurt a lot but im ok."
At the time she promised she would quit smoking vapes, adding: "nah im too scared to hit it cuz my throat hurts so bad.
"i cried for hours. its not worth it.
"then its like imagine all that wierd [sic] poisonous s–t in the vape seeping into the completely open wound in my throat like f–k that.
"im hella young."
Fast forward to yesterday's Met Gala, Doja rocked up to the event in a silver skintight gown from Oscar de la Renta, as the rest of her outfit featured a built-in head covered with cat ears.
Although she smashed the party brief, while Emma Chamberlain of Vogue was interviewing a celeb, Doja is seen in the background puffing on her vape and some Reddit users are not happy with what they saw.
One person wrote: “I feel like Doja knows she’s on camera and is aware of people picking up on her doing it. I don’t think it’s funny.”
Smoking on the red carpet is also against the rules as another person added: “Ok not to be a hater but can't people just leave the vape at home, at least for like a few hours, or at least wait till you head to the bathroom.”
“This is just me being annoying tho cause having to be around people who vape all the time, it's just like pls,” someone else said.
UNILAD has contacted Doja Cat's representatives for comment.
