Adam Sandler is, and always has been, a fashion icon, with hundreds of his low-effort outfits from the early 90s to the modern day still being the street style blueprint.
A ‘Sandler fit’ is, according to GQ Magazine, anything that could be classed as ‘sloppily swaggy’ or ‘blithely incongruous’.
Think technicolor basketball shorts paired with oversized striped polo tops, relaxed bowling shirts teamed with athletic jackets and fresh sneakers, like the Nike Sabrina 3 'Blueprint’ Sandler recently rocked during the Happy Gilmore 2 press tour.
And while 'The Sandman' has worked hard to curate his personal wardrobe over the years, it turns out his penchant for loose-fitting clothes isn’t just because he favors comfort above everything else.

During an interview with the Pardon My Take podcast, the father-of-two opened up about why he started reaching for baggy clothes.

“The baggy stuff for the young Adam Sandler started for a reason,” the Grown Ups star began.
“I used to be - and this is not a lie - jacked. I was jacked, I [had a] beautiful body so when I would hide it and then surprise you at the beach when this stuff came off.

“It would be like ‘The Sandman’s ripped? I didn’t know that’. Now, I go loose because it should be hidden.”
Sandler is back in the press following the release of Happy Gilmore 2 - the cameo-rich Netflix film that landed on the streamer 29 years after its predecessor.

The comedy movie, directed by Kyle Newacheck, sees the New York City native reprising the titular role - but this time he’s a widowed alcoholic and ex-golfer who returns to professional golf to help pay for his daughter's overseas ballet school.

Happy Gilmore 2 features a smorgasbord of stars, including Ben Stiller, Benny Safdie and Bad Bunny, as well as surprise appearances from Eminem, WWE icon Becky Lynch, and pro golfer Nelly Korda.
Sandler also used the sporting sequel to pay tribute to former Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce.

Boyce, who featured in both Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, died at the age of 20 due to complications from epilepsy.

During one scene in the new Netflix movie, the late actor appeared on a television screen. Fans believe the clip comes from the Disney Channel series Jessie.
The moment sees Boyce sporting a blue shirt and holding a pair of binoculars.
Boyce’s inclusion marks the second time that the Uncut Gems actor has paid homage to him.
In 2020’s Hubie Halloween, which was supposed to star Boyce before he died, Sandler issued a statement that read: “In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE.

“Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
