Emily Willis' mom believes the actress is aware of her 'locked-in' syndrome, despite suffering severe brain damage following a cardiac arrest in 2024.
Emily Willis' life changed dramatically while receiving treatment at a California rehab facility in February 2024.
The former adult star, who had been seeking treatment for a ketamine addiction, was left with a severe brain damage after the medical emergency, and spent months in a coma.
And now, more than two years on, she has been left in what has been described as a 'locked-in state', with her ability to move and communicate severely limited.

The 27-year-old has been moved to Mexico by her mom, Yesenia, where she receives constant care from her family at home.
And Yesenia believes that despite her 'locked-in' state, she is aware of her condition, sometimes screaming and even kicking her out of frustration.
The mom noted that she plans to buy a house in Mexico, where nursing care is more affordable than in the US.
"They do things there that aren't available here, maybe she can become more independent," she said, speaking with the Daily Mail.
Willis' younger brother, Michael Cooper, has been involved in the family's move to sue the rehab center, Summit Malibu, following the alleged lack of care his sister received.
"She said it had a lot of amenities, and a lot of celebrities went there and they make sure you come out well," he said, speaking with the outlet.
"She was strong going in and had a path forward. I had zero reason to think anything would go wrong."
On day three of her admission, she was described in medical notes as 'disheveled, frail, and disoriented'.
But by day nine, a nurse had found her unresponsive and not breathing.
Paramedics reportedly worked on the star for nearly an hour before detecting a pulse.
In the lawsuit, Summit Malibu is accused of admitting the patient 'merely for profits', an allegation which it denies.
The complainant wrote: "Defendants failed to provide her the care she needed for her physical and mental symptoms."
But for Cooper, 'still having no clue what happened' is the worst part.
"That's what is so frustrating is that this didn't happen to her at home or anything," he said.
"It happened under the care of medical professionals who were acting under California law as her legal guardians."
He's also devastated by his sister's lack of ability to 'defend herself', as he added: "Maybe some people can't comprehend this kind of pain."
