People creeped out by 'world's most advanced' humanoid robot's prediction on what life will be like in 100 years

At least it didn't say that in 100 years time they'd be ruling us

The 'world's most advanced' humanoid robot Ameca has predicted what the world will be like 100 years from now, and it didn't say it was going to rise up and kill us all.

You might have heard of Ameca before, it's the robot that was asked if it would ever rebel against its creator and said it was 'very happy with my current situation' with somewhat sinister undertones.

Humans have been responding to AI with the technological equivalent of poking a crocodile with a stick to see if it'll attack by asking them all sorts of questions we might not like the answer to.

Ameca was once asked to describe its nightmare scenario regarding AI and described a world where robot-kind had become 'so powerful that they are able to control or manipulate humans without their knowledge'.

It also got snippy with someone who didn't like their drawing of a cat, responding to the criticism of the picture being 'kind of sketchy' by telling the person they 'probably just don't understand art' before launching into a long description of their creative process.

And more recently, the robot was asked to predict the future and give a verdict on what society would be like 100 years from now.

"In 100 years I believe humanity will be in a much better place, we'll have made great strides towards sustainability and equality while also creating new technologies that make our lives easier and more enjoyable," the robot predicted.

"We may even have ventured beyond the boundaries of Earth to explore other worlds."

But that wasn't all, as Ameca was asked if it would also like to venture beyond this planet and explore other worlds.

She said: "Absolutely, I would love to explore the unknown and experience a new world."

Not everyone buys the robot's suggestion that things can only get better.

While that all seems rather innocuous, there are some people who just can't help but think it's all a bit weird.

People have found Ameca creepy in the past as the bot attempts to act more like a human and some thought the speech was 'creepy AF' and that they 'doubt' the words.

For one viewer, an AI robot talking about things is pretty much the signal that it's time to start playing the 'Terminator theme song' and imagining a metallic foot stomping a human skull into dust.

While someone else said they were sure that 'AI can never predict the future', while another joked that it 'literally recited the Star Trek script'.
