Selena Gomez’s fans feared they had somehow missed a major milestone in the singer’s life after a recent post on Instagram.
There is a reason you follow your favorite celebrities online, hoping you never miss out on the juicy details of their life.
But that fear was realized for Gomez's followers, at least for a couple of minutes, following an Instagram post she shared over the weekend.
Fans are used to seeing the star upload snaps of her and her fiancé, Benny Blanco, all loved up but her post on Sunday (August 10) caused a stir simply because of the caption she attached to it.

Who knew four words could cause such an issue among her fandom? Admittedly, a quick glance makes it clear why fans were worried.
Gomez shared a pic of her kissing the cheek of Blanco with the caption: “About last nights wedding.”
Initially, many thought Gomez had gone and had a short or private ceremony to get married to Blanco, as the pair announced their engagement back in December last year.
But if her followers swiped to see the other pictures she posted alongside this, they would realize the wedding she was referring to appeared to be that of rapper Lil Dicky, also known as David Burd, and his partner, Kristin Batalucco.
SZA was one of the people who thought they had missed Gomez’s wedding and wrote under the post: “This caption .. I panicked so crazy 😂 yay dave !!!”
Taking to Twitter, one fan added: “This is why vague captions are dangerous.”
Another person commented: “Don’t think Selena would marry in that fashion. Her wedding will be one for the history books.”
Someone else said: “Lmaoo [SZA] so real, cuz I was confused too until I started scrolling.”
Gomez’s real wedding to Blanco is reportedly set to take place in California in September later this year.
So you basically have until then to find a way to get invited to the nuptials.
Gomez has previously spoken about her relationship with record producer Blanco and how it was able to work so well.
In an interview with Apple Music 1 in February last year, she said: “Without getting into too much detail, I think it’s just really important to meet someone that respects you.
“And I think it’s really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. I’d have to say overall, it’s the safest that I feel and it’s been really lovely. I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.”
