White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced she is expecting her second child – but not without giving a shoutout to the President.
When most people announce their pregnancies, it’s not often that an expectant mum will give a shoutout to their employer, but Leavitt did precisely that while announcing the impending addition to her growing family.
In an Instagram post, Leavitt, who is already a mum to son, one, shared a snap of her growing baby bump beside a Christmas tree alongside the words: "The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for — baby girl coming in May 2026.”
Leavitt also shared photos of an ultrasound, along with a shirt that read 'Baby sis', while a third image featured her husband Nicholas Riccio, 59, holding Niko.

"My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth,” she added.
Rather than finishing her announcement there, Leavitt made the bold move of thanking Donald Trump personally, as she added: "I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House.”
She finished her post by declaring that the upcoming year ‘is going to be a great year and I am so excited to be a girl mom!’.
Leavitt welcomed her first child, Nicholas Robert Riccio, in July 2024, just days before an individual tried to kill Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
The chaotic fallout led to Leavitt returning to work earlier than planned, something she opened up about earlier this year as she reflected on the challenges of juggling work in the White House with the demands of motherhood.

"I think every working mother understands the demands. And no matter where you are, what you’re doing, there is a sense of guilt," she told The Christian Broadcasting Network.
"But I spend every second that I possibly can with my son when I’m home on weekends and evenings."
Nicholas was a firm fixture throughout Trump’s 2024 election campaign, with Leavitt working from home with her son and taking him to the office as she completed her duties.
Initially working from home, she told the Post Run High podcast: “I was able to easily go downstairs and do a quick TV hit and then, of course, attend to my child.
"Then [I] went back to the office as soon as I could, and brought my baby to the office with me. He was always with me throughout the entire duration of the campaign and just made it work."
