John Leguizamo has spoken directly to his fans who support the actions of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Leguizamo has joined a growing list of celebrities condemning ICE amidst rising discontent over its presence in Minneapolis, especially following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

Pretti was fatally shot by a federal immigration officer in the street in Minneapolis last week, which comes just weeks after mom-of-three Good was killed in her car in similar circumstances.

According to the Guardian, eight people have been killed in dealings with ICE since the start of 2026.

Following the incident, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said that Pretti's death was a move of self defense. However, in video footage of the moments leading up to his death, the ICU nurse did not show any evidence he was going to use his weapon, which he was legally permitted to carry.

A Customs and Border Patrol spokesperson has recently confirmed to CBS that 'two officers involved are on administrative leave', which is believed to be standard protocol.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who heads up ICE and Border Patrol, was asked about the protocol following the death of Renee Good earlier this month.

"We are following the exact same investigative and review process that we always have under ICE and under the Department of Homeland Security and within the administration," Noem stated.

"The exact same policy that the Biden administration used, the exact same review, so we haven’t changed any of that."

Following Pretti's death, actor and comedian Leguizamo shared a video on Instagram, instructing his followers to unfollow him if they support ICE.

"If you follow ICE, unfollow me," he said.

He added: "Don't come to my shows and don't watch my movies," before captioning the clip: "Abolish ice!"

People were quick to support Leguizamo in the comments, with one writing: "THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOICE!"

    While another said: "Abolish ICE."

A number of other celebrities have also been speaking out following the events in Minneapolis this week.

Mandy Moore shared a series of statements and articles on social media, before writing: "We have eyeballs. We've seen the video. They executed someone else. I'm not sure how this ends. This is terrifying territory."

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande posted a tweet from New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, which read: "As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today. ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE."

Singer Olivia Rodrigo added on social media: "ICEs actions are unconscionable but we are not powerless. our actions matter. I stand with Minnesota."
