Donald Trump has come under fire for his response to the news that a 37-year-old woman had been shot dead by ICE in Minneapolis.

Renee Nicole Good died just a few blocks from where she lived after being gunned down by an ICE agent on Wednesday morning (January 7).

Footage of the incident circulating online appears to show an ICE agent attempting to open the door to a woman’s vehicle as she tries to drive away.

A second officer then shoots her, with the car seen rolling down the road to crash into another parked vehicle.

Since the tragedy unfolded, many American politicians have hit out at the incident, including Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who branded it a ‘public murder’.

"What we saw today was a criminal murder a woman and shoot her in the head while she was trying to escape and flee for her life,” she said, before describing it as the ‘manifestation of every American’s worst nightmare'.

Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey also slammed the incident as he told ICE officers to ‘f----- get out of here’ in an angry and heartbroken address.

"There's little I can say, again, that'll make this situation better," Frey said during a press conference on Wednesday shortly after the fatal shooting.

“But I do have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE." He raged, "To ICE, get the f--- out of Minneapolis."

“They are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust,” Frey said. “They’re ripping families apart. They’re sowing chaos on our streets and in this case quite literally killing people.

“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense. Having seen the video myself, I wanna tell everybody directly, that is b-hit,” the mayor said.

One person who didn’t condemn the actions of the ICE officer, however, is President Trump, who instead pointed the finger of blame at the victim herself.

"I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch," Trump wrote on his Truth Social site. "The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting, who then violently, wilfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.

"Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital," he added. "The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE agents on a daily basis.”

Trump concluded his statement by saying, "They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE.

"We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP."

Following the post, many users were disgusted by the president’s perspective, with one even dubbing him a ‘disgrace to humanity’ for his remarks.

"You are a horrible disgusting disgrace to humanity," they commented. A second person then added that Trump is ‘never going to admit to doing anything wrong. Ever.’

"He believes that people no longer believe what they see with their own eyes- only his," a third person said. "It is a cult."

Yet not everyone was inclined to disagree with Trump, as some users also spoke out in support of his take on the situation.

"When law enforcement tells you to stop repeatedly you STOP," one person commented.

"This isn't new, we learn this in elementary school," they added. "This kind of s--- doesn't need to happen."

"Glad to see the ICE Officer survived," a third person added. "Great training. Thank you ICE Officer, please recover quickly. GO MAGA!"

As you may expect, the Department of Homeland Security shared Trump's assessment of the situation and claimed that the ICE official had been acting in 'self-defense'.

They said: "Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.

"An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.

"This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement who are facing 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats.

"This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available."
